What happened: The Mavericks acquire the draft rights to Tarik Biberovic along with a 2030 Golden State first-round pick as part of their trade with Memphis. That pick is protected 1 through 20 and turns into a second-rounder if it does not convey.

Why it matters: The structure lets the Grizzlies keep stacking draft capital while preserving the full $29 million trade exception generated in the Jaren Jackson Jr. transaction. For Dallas, the protected pick and draft rights round out a package centered on a versatile forward.

What to watch: Watch for both teams to formally confirm the full trade terms and the pick's protection language.
