What happened: Marc Stein reports Dallas has received offseason inquiries for Irving. Masai Ujiri wants to evaluate the guard alongside Cooper Flagg.

Why it matters: Irving is believed comfortable remaining in Dallas. Keeping him would give Flagg an accomplished veteran partner as the Mavericks rebuild.

By the numbers: Irving is a nine-time All-Star who played zero games in 2025-26. Dallas finished 26-56 and missed the playoffs for a second straight season.

What to watch: Watch for an official update on Irving's 2026-27 availability and whether Dallas maintains its position before training camp.
