What happened: Gavin McKenna's arrival in Toronto and Dylan Larkin's loss of the captaincy were paired in a Leafs discussion that connected prospect hype with veteran upheaval.

Why it matters: McKenna's path will help set Toronto's tone for the coming season. Larkin's situation still matters beyond one dressing room because a stripped captaincy can quickly spill into larger roster decisions.

What to watch: Watch whether Toronto turns McKenna's hype into a defined role and whether movement around Larkin shifts from talk to transaction.
