What happened: Phoenix and Indiana are tied 41-41 at halftime of their WNBA matchup on USA Network. Caitlin Clark leads the way with 15 points, four assists and three made threes, while Kelsey Mitchell has added 11 points. For Phoenix, Alyssa Thomas has a near double-double feel with 11 points and six assists, and Kahleah Copper has matched her with 11 points of her own.

Why it matters: The result carries playoff-seeding weight for both clubs. Indiana entered at 11-8 and looking to steady itself after dropping its last two, while Phoenix arrived at 7-12 and trying to build on a single-game win streak. A road half even against the higher-seeded Caitlin Clark-led Fever keeps Phoenix within reach of a needed result.

By the numbers: Halftime scoring leaders: Clark 15 PTS, 4 AST, 3 3PM; Mitchell 11 PTS, 2 3PM; Thomas 11 PTS, 6 AST, 2 REB; Copper 11 PTS, 2 3PM. Season form entering the night: Indiana 11-8 (last five 2-3, scoring 93.3, allowing 88.3); Phoenix 7-12 (last five 1-4, scoring 84.0, allowing 85.5).

What to watch: Watch whether Indiana's offense pulls ahead in the third quarter and how Phoenix manages Clark's perimeter shooting. The second half will decide whether the Mercury can steal a road result.
