What happened: Milne returns to Winnipeg after moving through the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings systems last season. The former Minnesota Wild prospect previously played junior hockey for the Winnipeg Ice.

Why it matters: The move gives Milne another route to the NHL within a Central Division rival's system. Minnesota drafted him 89th overall in 2022 and traded him for Boris Katchouk in December.

By the numbers: Milne recorded 32 goals and 65 points in 172 games with the Iowa Wild. He set AHL career highs with 15 goals and 26 points in 2024-25 and has appeared in one NHL game.

What to watch: Milne is expected to open 2026-27 in the AHL and compete for a call-up.
