What happened: Athletics Director Chris Massaro and Beverly Keel unveiled the commemorative design Friday at MTSU’s Center for Popular Music. The first game-worn jersey will enter the center’s collection after the game.

Why it matters: Parton died Tuesday at 80, prompting tributes across Tennessee, including an earlier on-air remembrance. Scoreboard QR codes will direct fans to her Imagination Library, extending the memorial into donations for its book-gifting work.

By the numbers: The white patch carries Parton’s signature and the years 1946-2026.

What to watch: Murray State visits Floyd Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 5.
