What happened: Miguel Rojas announced his retirement from playing baseball following NLCS Game 4, calling the game the final one of his career. Made part of the NLCS roster, Rojas started at third base in Game 3 before his playing career concluded in Game 4.

Why it matters: Rojas said he wants to be remembered as someone who always did everything possible to help his teammates win. His exit closes a playing tenure that included a fan experience on Sept. 23 and a fifth-inning hit that ended a no-hit bid on July 6.

What to watch: Rojas expressed hope to remain in the organization in a post-playing role.
