What happened: Mikael Pyyhtia and Jansen Harkins were placed on waivers Thursday. Three other players successfully cleared after being placed on the wire the previous day.

Why it matters: The procedural moves allow the organizations to finalize their minor-league rosters ahead of the upcoming campaign. Jansen Harkins was previously skating on the fourth line ahead of a Minnesota visit. Pyyhtia was activated before his assignment to AHL Cleveland.

What to watch: Both players must pass through unclaimed before officially reporting to their respective AHL affiliates.
