We have recalled forward Rieger Lorenz from the Iowa Wild. In addition, forward Nick Foligno has been placed on Injured Via @mnwild on X

What happened: The Minnesota Wild placed forward Nick Foligno on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. In corresponding moves, the team recalled forward Rieger Lorenz from the Iowa Wild and reassigned Tyler Pitlick to Iowa.

Why it matters: The moves shuffle Minnesota's forward depth during the preseason as they evaluate their roster. Foligno's injury removes a veteran presence from the lineup temporarily.

By the numbers: Minnesota is 10-13 this preseason and has lost its last two games.

What to watch: The Wild will monitor Foligno's upper-body injury while Lorenz gets an opportunity to impress at the NHL level.
