Cost of the Montez Sweat suspension: Via @AdamSchefter on X

What happened: Chicago Bears edge rusher Montez Sweat drew a two-game suspension without pay for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy. The ban strips $2.3M from his 2026 pay, leaving $12.7M remaining on that salary.

Why it matters: Chicago is 3-1 and visits Green Bay on Sunday without its starting edge rusher. Sweat recorded 53 tackles and 10 sacks across 17 games in 2025, thinning an already stretched pass rush for a divisional test.

By the numbers: Forfeited salary: $2.3M; remaining 2026 salary: $12.7M. 2025 season: 53 tackles, 10 sacks in 17 games. Bears record: 3-1 entering Sunday at Green Bay.

What to watch: Chicago plays at Green Bay on Sunday. Sweat becomes eligible after serving the two-game ban.
