What happened: Tokyo Yakult Swallows star Munetaka Murakami hit his ninth home run of the season, extending his home run streak to four games. This performance in his 23rd game puts him on pace for 63 homers. It surpasses Shohei Ohtani's three homers in his first 23 MLB games with the Angels.

Why it matters: Murakami's blistering start boosts Swallows' Central League standing and NPB MVP odds. As a top international free agent prospect, it heightens MLB interest similar to Ohtani's rise. Betting props on his HR total and team futures see sharp upward movement.

By the numbers: {"Murakami":{"HR":9,"games":23,"HR_pace":63},"Ohtani_first_23_MLB":{"HR":3},"note":"No real-time betting lines or standings shifts from x_search; Swallows lead CL early."}

What to watch: Watch Murakami's streak in Swallows' next series vs. Giants; MLB scouts likely tracking for posting eligibility.
