What happened: Myles Garrett sits atop the newly released rankings following a historic individual campaign. His recent trade to the Rams gives the franchise a premier defensive anchor for an anticipated playoff push. Management pushed their chips in to finalize the deal and completely rebuild the defensive front.

Why it matters: Elevating a defensive end to the top overall spot represents a fundamental misunderstanding of positional value. Even the most disruptive pass rusher cannot match the constant influence of an elite signal caller. Valuing defensive pressure over the players who directly command the offense is a massive blind spot for the voters.
