What happened: Nic Claxton will wear No. 9 for the Chicago Bulls, the team confirmed. He wore No. 33 during five seasons with the Brooklyn Nets before this offseason's move.

Why it matters: Claxton arrived in Chicago as part of the three-team draft-night deal that also sent Julius Randle to the Nets. The number switch gives the Bulls' frontcourt a new face heading into the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for how Claxton's role in Chicago's frontcourt takes shape as the 2026-27 roster comes together.
