What happened: Nick Folk marked his birthday on Thursday. The veteran specialist originally entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick in 2007 out of Arizona.

Why it matters: Folk finished last season having made 28 of 29 field goals across 16 games. Steady placekicking remains a critical factor in managing late-game margins and securing points in close contests.

What to watch: The kicking unit continues preparations for upcoming regular-season competition.
