What happened: Lance Stroll missed Thursday media duties ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos as he recovers from a viral infection contracted in Mexico. Aston Martin confirmed the absence and noted the Canadian driver is expected to return to the circuit on Friday.

Why it matters: The setback follows a difficult weekend in Mexico City, where an early Stroll stoppage at Turn 6 triggered a virtual safety car during a double retirement for Aston Martin. Returning on schedule avoids the need for a reserve driver ahead of on-track preparation.

What to watch: Stroll is scheduled to return to the paddock on Friday ahead of opening practice at Interlagos. Aston Martin will monitor his physical condition before the car hits the track.
