What happened: Pierre Sage is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of Crystal Palace, with Lens set to receive approximately €5 million in compensation. Olivier Pantaloni has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed him at Lens following Sage's successful tenure.

Why it matters: The appointment of Sage follows a historic season where he led Lens to a second-place finish in Ligue 1 and a Coupe de France title. The move signals a tactical shift for the Premier League side, while Lens seeks stability with Pantaloni as they prepare for a Champions League campaign.

What to watch: Official confirmation from Selhurst Park is expected shortly. Lens will look to finalize terms with Pantaloni to ensure a smooth transition ahead of the 2026-27 season.
