What happened: Baltimore announced its Tuesday night starters ahead of a home meeting with the Chicago White Sox. Coverage is set for MASN and MASN+, with radio on 98 Rock 97.9 FM and WBAL 1090 AM.

Why it matters: The Orioles enter at 39-47 and have dropped three in a row, leaving them well below .500 as the season passes its midpoint. Chicago arrives at 44-39, giving Baltimore an immediate test against a club that has handled it of late and that it cannot afford to fall further behind in the standings.

By the numbers: Baltimore sits 39-47 on the season (last five LLLWL, scoring 4.6, allowing 5.0) while Chicago is 44-39 (last five WLWWL). In their most recent meeting on June 29, the White Sox posted an 8-2 result over the Orioles in Baltimore.

What to watch: Watch whether Baltimore can snap its three-game slide at home and whether its starter can keep a steady Chicago lineup in check.
