Green Bay gets a 2028 sixth-round pick

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Aug 301 min read

What happened: The deal reunites McCord with Miami passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo, his former offensive coordinator in Philadelphia. Miami expects McCord to serve as Malik Willis' top backup.

Why it matters: The move closes Miami as a likely destination for Philadelphia backups Tanner McKee or Andy Dalton. Green Bay converted a quarterback signed after Philadelphia declined to retain him into future draft capital.

By the numbers: McCord completed 46 of 70 passes for 446 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions this preseason, posting a 102.4 passer rating.

What to watch: Watch how quickly McCord absorbs Miami's offense before the 2026 opener.
