What happened: The Carolina Panthers are expected to activate defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton from the reserve/PUP list, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. The move follows Carolina opening Wharton's practice window on Oct. 12.

Why it matters: Wharton is set to make his 2026 regular-season debut Sunday against Philadelphia. Now in his seventh NFL season out of Missouri S&T, he adds an experienced interior pass rusher back to Carolina's defensive front.

What to watch: Carolina must make Wharton's active-roster elevation official ahead of Sunday's kickoff against Philadelphia.
