What happened: Xavier Legette will not play Sunday against the Detroit Lions as Carolina keeps the wide receiver sidelined with a knee issue. He did not participate in any of the Panthers' three practice sessions this week.

Why it matters: The move settles Legette's status after Carolina had already ruled him out against Detroit, leaving one fewer proven target in the offense for Week 4. Any missed game matters for a first-round pick the Panthers are still developing into a larger role.

What to watch: The next marker will be Legette's practice status after Week 4 as Carolina looks for signs he can return to the field. Detroit's final injury report will shape the rest of the matchup.
