What happened: ESPN's Jeff Passan joined SportsCenter to discuss two intersecting storylines: the streaking Chicago White Sox and Major League Baseball's league-wide low batting average. The segment framed Chicago's recent run against the broader offensive environment around the sport.

Why it matters: The White Sox have been a rebuild story for several seasons, so a sustained hot stretch is notable for a franchise tracking its young core. The league-wide batting average angle matters for hitters, pitchers, alike, as a depressed offensive environment reshapes totals, prop markets, and roster decisions across MLB.

What to watch: Watch whether Chicago's run continues against tougher competition and whether warmer weather lifts league-wide averages, as suggested in replies to the segment. Passan's follow-up reporting on hitter usage and front-office posture is the next signal to track.
