What happened: Bailey hit a leadoff solo homer to open the seventh inning of the opener. The swing squared the game as the starting pitcher departed with the score level.

Why it matters: A tied Game 1 in the late innings shifts leverage to the bullpens for the remainder of the night. Taking the opener changes the series math before Game 2.

What to watch: Late-inning relief matchups decide the opener from 2-2.
