What happened: The New England Patriots elevated safety Elliott Davison from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday and released running back Hassan Haskins from the practice squad, per Adam Schefter. The roster moves accompany the activation of wide receiver A.J. Brown off injured reserve to the 53-man roster.

Why it matters: Davison, an undrafted rookie out of UTSA who joined New England on Sept. 15, gives the secondary depth ahead of Sunday's divisional game. New England signed Haskins to the practice squad on Oct. 13 for his second stint with the club since August before parting ways four days later.

What to watch: The Patriots face the New York Jets on Sunday with Brown expected in the lineup and Davison available on the active game-day roster.
