Patriots transactions: 🏈Elevated from practice squad for Sunday's game: Safety Mike Brown and CB Kindle Vildor Via @MikeReiss on X

What happened: Brown gets his second practice-squad elevation in two weeks after a Sept. 26 call-up. Vildor joins him as a standard elevation, giving New England two extra defensive backs on the active list for the weekend.

Why it matters: The move points to a need for more secondary depth on game day. It also lets New England operate from a 1-2 start without forcing an immediate 53-man roster move.

By the numbers: Brown was also elevated Sept. 26, making this his second game-day call-up in two weeks. Both elevations went to defensive backs: Brown at safety and Vildor at cornerback.

What to watch: Inactive announcements will show whether Brown or Vildor are ticketed for defensive snaps, special teams work, or both. The Patriots can reassess the back end of the roster again after Sunday's game.
