What happened: The New England Patriots are expected to rely on practice-squad veteran Kindle Vildor to address a depleted defensive backfield. The team is managing multiple absences in the secondary as it finalizes walkthroughs.

Why it matters: Vildor provides immediate experience for a unit missing key starters. The Patriots had previously signed him in September. Separately, wide receiver Efton Chism III emphasized a strict standard for securing difficult receptions, stating, "If you touch it, you buy it."

What to watch: New England will finalize its weekend roster moves before Sunday's game.
