What happened: Detroit Pistons will open with Paul Reed alongside Ausar Thompson, John Collins, Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson. Jalen Duren will not play in the preseason opener.

Why it matters: The alignment places Reed with four starters for the opening preseason minutes. Those minutes establish the early center rotation behind Duren.

What to watch: The game has not started yet. The next gameday lineup will show whether the same five opens again.
