What happened: Defenseman Jake Livanavage was recalled from the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The transaction adds defensive depth to the NHL roster.

Why it matters: The promotion provides additional coverage on the blue line as the team manages its regular-season rotation. It gives Livanavage an opportunity to join the major-league squad.

What to watch: The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
