What happened: On SportsCenter, Kendrick Perkins criticized James Harden's recent performance, saying he has been 'a liability on both ends of the floor' and should not be logging his current minutes. Perkins framed the take as 'facts over feelings' while assessing Harden's play against the Pistons.

Why it matters: Harden's usage and minutes load are central to his team's playoff ceiling, so a high-profile critique adds pressure on the coaching staff's rotation choices. Public scrutiny from a national analyst can sharpen the spotlight on Harden's efficiency, defensive engagement, and late-game role in a tight series.

What to watch: Watch Harden's next-game minutes, shot profile, and defensive matchups for any rotation adjustment. Any in-series response from the coaching staff or Harden himself will signal how the criticism is landing.
