What happened: Pro Football Focus highlighted Deebo Samuel as a separation specialist in its latest evaluation of route running. The analytics outlet featured Samuel in its weekly separation report following his recent performances.

Why it matters: Samuel was sidelined in mid-October with a hamstring injury that disrupted San Francisco's passing game. His route-running efficiency remains critical as the 49ers contend for the top seed in the NFC.

What to watch: Samuel's status for Week 9 remains in question after he was held out of Wednesday's practice. His participation over the next two days will determine his availability for Sunday.
