What happened: Pro Football Focus highlighted rookie defensive back Robert Spears-Jennings for his physical impact in coverage and run defense. The recognition follows his emergence into Pittsburgh's secondary rotation after being selected in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Why it matters: Spears-Jennings was selected 224th overall out of Oklahoma and has carved out regular defensive snaps in his debut campaign. His interior hitting and tackling depth provide critical support for a defensive unit balancing rookie integration with second-half divisional positioning.

What to watch: Pittsburgh continues its regular-season slate as Spears-Jennings aims to expand his role across the secondary in the coming weeks.
