What happened: The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels are scheduled to play again, with the Phillies holding a 2-0 lead in the series. Philadelphia has taken the first two meetings by identical two-run margins, 4-2 and 5-3.

Why it matters: Philadelphia enters at 68-60 on a one-game winning streak, while Los Angeles is 52-75 and riding a four-game losing streak. Another Phillies win would extend their early series edge over an Angels club that has struggled to find consistency down the stretch.

By the numbers: Phillies: 68-60, last five WLLWW, scoring 4.6 runs per game, allowing 4.4. Angels: 52-75, last five LLLLW, scoring 4.1, allowing 4.5. Recent head-to-head: Phillies 4, Angels 2 (Aug. 29); Phillies 5, Angels 3 (Aug. 28).

What to watch: First pitch is upcoming, with Philadelphia looking to build on its series lead against Los Angeles.
