What happened: Lowe has reached 60 RBIs on the 2026 season, a milestone Pittsburgh celebrated on Saturday. The total puts him among the Pirates' most productive bats at the July 4 mark of the schedule.

Why it matters: Run production has been the swing factor for a Pittsburgh club whose identity is built on pitching, and a 60-RBI first half gives the lineup a dependable middle-of-the-order anchor. Fans have drawn comparisons to early Colorado Rockies teams in reverse — strong arms searching for enough offense — and Lowe's pace is the counterargument.

What to watch: Watch whether Lowe can sustain his run-production pace into the second half and keep Pittsburgh's offense trending upward through the holiday-weekend slate.
