What happened: Nashville received forward Shane Wright from Seattle in exchange for forward Matthew Wood, a one-for-one swap. The Predators announced the trade, which Darren Dreger reported first.

Why it matters: Wright had been the subject of trade talk for months, and a July report said he preferred a move to Vancouver. He lands in Nashville instead, while Wood goes the other way.

What to watch: Watch for each forward's first game with his new club.
