PSG rotates squad at Strasbourg ahead of Barcelona Champions League match

Panichelli is ruled out for 12th-place Strasbourg at home.

What happened: Paris Saint-Germain visits Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau on Saturday for Matchday 7 of the Ligue 1 regular season with kickoff scheduled at 0-0. Manager Luis Enrique plans squad rotation with a Champions League fixture against Barcelona set for three days later. Strasbourg enters without Panichelli, while midfielder Dario Essugo is listed as doubtful.

Why it matters: Sixth-place Paris Saint-Germain is balancing domestic table climbing against midweek European obligations. Hugo Oliveira's Strasbourg side looks to halt a two-match Ligue 1 skid by leaning on an unbeaten home record at the Meinau.

By the numbers: Paris Saint-Germain holds 11 points in sixth place after three consecutive league victories, led by Ligue 1 scoring leader Ferran Torres with four goals. Both clubs have found the net in each of their last five head-to-head meetings.

What to watch: Kickoff at the Stade de la Meinau marks the start of a two-game week for Paris Saint-Germain before the club faces Barcelona in European play three days later.
