What happened: The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with goaltender James Reimer on a one-year contract worth $850,000, per Pierre LeBrun. The agreement places Reimer on New York's active NHL roster.

Why it matters: Adding Reimer at an $850,000 cap figure gives the Rangers immediate goaltending depth at a league-minimum commitment. The one-year term preserves New York's payroll flexibility while reinforcing the crease.

What to watch: Reimer joins the Rangers' active roster as New York continues its regular-season schedule.
