What happened: Kawhi Leonard is headed back to Toronto as the Raptors and Clippers complete the long-delayed trade. Los Angeles gets Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, a 2027 pick swap and two second-round picks after the deal paused during the NBA's review of Leonard's Clippers contract.

Why it matters: Toronto is betting Leonard can raise the ceiling of a Scottie Barnes-Immanuel Quickley core for the 2026-27 season after a summer that started with Leonard's return to the Raptors and then stalled during the league's contract investigation. The Clippers turn to Ingram and Darius Garland as new offensive centerpieces while restocking draft capital after the penalties tied to Leonard's prior contract.

What to watch: Training camp will show how Toronto splits on-ball work between Leonard, Barnes and Quickley. The Clippers' first read is whether Ingram can stay on the floor after heel surgery limited him late last postseason.
