What happened: The assignment applies to Baltimore's Sept. 13 opener against Indianapolis. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Why it matters: Baltimore is entrusting its offensive-line calls and quarterback exchanges to a first-time starter on the road. Minter framed the choice as a Week 1 decision, keeping the job open to reevaluation.

By the numbers: Gwyn had 11 career snaps at center and no NFL starts before earning the assignment. Both clubs enter the opener 0-0.

What to watch: Gwyn's performance against Indianapolis will shape whether the assignment extends beyond the opener.
