What happened: Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will not play in Sunday night's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of an ankle injury. Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed the move Friday after Jackson missed his third consecutive practice.

Why it matters: The absence sidelines Baltimore's starting quarterback for a prime-time matchup, forcing the Ravens to rely on their depth behind center, which includes rookie Joe Fagnano. Minter indicated Jackson is actively rehabilitating and could return against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.

What to watch: The Ravens will continue to monitor the quarterback's ankle as the team prepares for that AFC North clash.
