What happened: Baltimore waived linebacker Carl Jones Jr., exposing him to waivers. Wide receiver Shedrick Jackson, who flashed on a difficult preseason grab, was released from the practice squad.

Why it matters: Practice-squad turnover preserves flexibility for midseason depth needs. Linebacker and receiver depth now thins behind the active roster.

What to watch: Watch for corresponding practice-squad additions later this week.
