Second straight scoreless postseason outing

Atlanta opener Ray Kerr with another fabulous spot start: 2.2 innings, two hits, 0 runs Via @BNightengale on X

What happened: Kerr allowed two hits over 2 2/3 scoreless innings in the opener role. The outing followed 3 1/3 scoreless innings in his prior postseason start.

Why it matters: Scoreless opener work shortens the game for the bullpen in the postseason. Back-to-back scoreless outings give Atlanta a repeatable bridge to the middle innings.

By the numbers: Tonight: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R. Prior outing: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K.

What to watch: The bullpen takes over from the third inning. Watch how Atlanta sequences relievers behind the short start.
