What happened: Ibrahima Konaté has signed a four-year contract with Real Madrid, with the move confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. Denzel Dumfries has agreed identical terms, and both deals have been completed and sealed by club president Florentino Pérez. Official announcements are expected to follow after Real Madrid's presidential elections.

Why it matters: Konaté arrives as the same Konaté whose move to Real Madrid had been building on a free transfer after his previous contract talks collapsed, giving Pérez a high-profile center-back at no transfer fee. Adding Dumfries on the same four-year terms deepens the squad and signals an aggressive offseason rebuild as the club reshapes its defense.

What to watch: Watch for the official club announcements, which Romano says will come after Real Madrid's presidential elections.
