What happened: Yahoo Sports reports two Detroit players prefer to be moved before the 2026-27 season. Simon Edvinsson told the club he would rather be moved than sign an extension and has returned to Sweden, while Dylan Larkin trade chatter lingered into this week.

Why it matters: Detroit risks opening the 2026-27 preseason without its captain and a 6-foot-6 restricted free agent on defense. Philadelphia, still winless at 0-2-2, has been linked to both and remains rebuffed on Larkin.

What to watch: Watch whether Detroit moves one deal before preseason ends or carries both disputes into the 2026-27 campaign.
