What happened: Larkin heard boos when he was introduced with Detroit's scratches before Friday's game. He was out with an upper-body injury after requesting a trade in the offseason.

Why it matters: The reaction lands months after Larkin requested a trade from Detroit and after the club stripped him of the captaincy. It also pushes the standoff back into public view as the Red Wings open the season without a captain.

What to watch: Watch for Larkin's next appearance around the team and for any movement on his trade request as camp continues.
