What happened: Former NFL head coach Rex Ryan criticized Bo Nix during an ESPN segment, stating on air, "I don't like the way [Bo Nix is] playing." Ryan expanded on his evaluation, explaining why he remains unimpressed with the quarterback's on-field performance.

Why it matters: The critique adds to ongoing scrutiny of the quarterback, following earlier televised remarks when Ryan Fitzpatrick blasted Nix after a previous outing. As Denver navigates the 2026 regular season, Nix continues to face elevated scrutiny in his second campaign following his selection at No. 12 overall in the 2024 draft.

What to watch: Nix and the Broncos offense will look to improve consistency in their upcoming regular-season matchup.
