What happened: Rhyne Howard connected on a falling, spinning fadeaway during second-half action in Game 1 of the 2026 WNBA Finals on NBC and Peacock. The shot continued an active opener for the 2022 top pick who shook off contact under the basket earlier in the game.

Why it matters: Golden State went on to take Game 1 of the championship series over Atlanta. The opener marked the Dream's first WNBA Finals appearance since 2013 during the league's 30th season.

What to watch: Atlanta looks to even the 2026 WNBA Finals at one game apiece in Game 2 against the Valkyries.
