What happened: The move came during Atlanta's Saturday matchup with Chicago, lifting Howard into third place on the franchise's all-time steals list. She cleared Hayes while adding another milestone to a fast-moving late-season stretch.

Why it matters: It adds to Howard's climb up Atlanta's record book as the Dream push through the postseason stretch. Passing Hayes on a defensive leaderboard ties Howard's current run to one of the franchise's long-standing benchmarks.

What to watch: The next checkpoint is the final result from Atlanta's meeting with Chicago and what it means for the postseason race. Howard now has another franchise mark in front of her if the Dream keep extending their season.
