What happened: Rob Gronkowski met with reporters Thursday afternoon ahead of his enshrinement into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. The former tight end reflected on his franchise career during a scheduled 3 p.m. ET media session. The appearance precedes a weekend of events honoring his contributions to the organization.

Why it matters: Patriots owner Robert Kraft will miss Saturday's induction after undergoing back surgery, leaving team officials to host the ceremony. Gronkowski secured three Super Bowl championships with New England during one of the most dominant eras at the position.

What to watch: The Patriots will formally induct Gronkowski into the franchise Hall of Fame on Saturday. New England continues its regular-season slate on Sunday.
