What happened: Cornerback Kindle Vildor is rejoining New England on the practice squad after fielding interest from multiple teams. Vildor returned to the team facility Thursday, two days after he was released from the 53-man roster. The organization planned to retain him on the practice squad once he cleared waivers.

Why it matters: Vildor provides experienced depth at cornerback for a secondary managing multiple injuries this season. Retaining him preserves continuity in the defensive backfield without occupying a spot on the active 53-man roster. His decision keeps an experienced veteran in-house who can be elevated on game days when needed.

By the numbers: Vildor recorded 16 tackles and one interception in 12 games last season (2025) with the Buccaneers. Chicago selected him in the fifth round (163rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia Southern.

What to watch: New England can finalize Vildor's practice squad contract ahead of Week 10 preparations. He will be eligible for standard game-day elevations to the active roster.
