What happened: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts recorded his 1,000th career managerial victory, reaching the mark quicker than any skipper in MLB history. The milestone comes as Los Angeles closes in on another NL West title before the All-Star break. Roberts already owns three World Series championships and five pennants.

Why it matters: The pace of the achievement puts Roberts firmly in the conversation for eventual Hall of Fame enshrinement, pairing rapid win accumulation with October success. Sustained regular-season dominance plus multiple titles is the resume profile Cooperstown rewards. It further cements his standing among the most accomplished active managers.

What to watch: Watch whether Los Angeles formally clinches the division before the break and how Roberts' win total climbs through the second half.
