Playing baseball in Venezuela taught Brayan Rocchio to be clutch in big moments for #Guardians #MLB #StandGuard https:// Via @RuiterWrongFAN on X

What happened: Brayan Rocchio said playing in Venezuela helped build the composure he leans on in pressure spots for Cleveland. Saturday's first pitch is 1 p.m. ET at Progressive Field as Rocchio and the Guardians open the ALDS.

Why it matters: That matters more in October, where one at-bat or one clean defensive play can tilt a series quickly. Cleveland is back in the postseason for a third straight year, so steady production from the middle infield carries immediate weight.

By the numbers: Rocchio hit 14 home runs and drove in 72 runs across 153 games this season.

What to watch: The next measure comes in Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. Rocchio's early at-bats and infield chances will show how that poise holds up once the series starts.
